Alaska Adventures Fly Fishing Packing List

    Clothing & waders: 2 sets of polar fleece pants and shirts, 5 pair of light socks, 2 pair of heavy socks, 6 pair of underwear, 1 set sweats for pajamas a high quality rain jacket or parka ( Helly Hanson, Patagonia or Simms), 1 set of warm gloves and hat either wool or fleece, 1 pair camp shoes, small dry bag for storage and transport. (NO COTTON) 1 pair waders Gore-Tex or neoprene with wading belt, pliers and a hook file.

Accessories:

    A pair of polarized sun glasses with croakies, camera in waterproof bag and extra film & batteries, ditty bag for personal hygiene, and personal medicine you are required to take, 1 pair of camp shoes, 1 pair of gore-tex waders,1 wash clothe-1 towel, 1 small box baby wipes.

Fishing Gear and Tackle:

    Fishing vest, 2-3 rods and reels (3-4 piece travel real nice, but any will work), Trout/Char/Grayling rods 6 & 7 weight graphite 9-10ft length, wf floating 444sl Cortland, 220 gr sink tip fly lines, Salmon/ Steelhead /Sockeyes /Chums/ Pinks/ Silvers 8 or 9 weight 9 1/2 ft good quality rod (Diamondback, Sage, Winston, Orvis heavy duty reel with good drag) 150 yards backing minimum.
    King rods need to be 10 & 11 weight 9 to 9 1/2 ft with great drag preferably with anti reverse (STH/Billy Pate/Abel/ Orvis) they are all good, filled with 200 yards of 30# backing and a 300 grain fast sinking tip, Asstortment of frog hair or Maxima Spools 1:6lb, 2:8lb, 1:10lb, 1:12lb, 1:15lb, 1:25lb, 4 pre tied tapered leaders 1x-3x.
    A pair of needle nose plairs, hookfile and snipers, Assorted split shot 2-bb 2-3/0, 2-#7 two packs of each important.

Sockeyes /Chums/ Pinks/ Silvers 8ft medium action rod with ball bearing reel spooled with 14 lb line150 yards minimum, #4 vibrax spinners orange-fire tiger-silver/pink-chartruese, 1/2 oz pink –orange pixie. King rods 8-9ft medium heavy Spin and Back trolling Rods Good reels. 20lb on Spin rod 25lb on Trolling rod with level wind, filled with 200 yards fresh line.
    A pair of needle nose plairs, hookfile and snipers, Assorted split shot 3/0- #5-#7 two packs of each important. Ball bearing locking swivels, #5 vibrax spinners orange-fire tiger-silver/pink-chartruese, mepps aglia weighted spinners, magnum wiggle warts-blue pirate, gr pirate, silver chartruese, silver/pink 1/2 oz pink pixie.

Firearms

    Firearms are not allowed or needed as each guide has one, unless waterfowl hunting, bear mace or pepper spray not allowed or needed in camp

Liquor & Beer (BYO)

Any alcoholic beverages can be bought at the store in King Salmon before your charter flight trip, but keep in mind intoxication will be avoided
